Patricia Taft was born into Taft American Political Dynasty in 1984, making her the great granddaughter of the 27th President of the United States, William Taft and First Lady Helen Herron. She is the granddaughter of the late Senator Robert A. Taft, Senior. Patricia graduated Cum Laude at Vanderbilt University. She earned a Masters of Arts Degree in Interior Architecture, held a fashion and design careers in New York, Chicago, and Los Angeles. Today, she is the Principal Designer and Owner of her own interior design firm, Patricia Taft Studio.
Patricia is a political enthusiast and passionate about preserving the history of the United States Presidency.
Patricia is a political enthusiast and fervid proponent of preservation and education of United States presidential history and democracy. Specifically, Patricia holds immense passion for maintaining the important legacy of American First Ladies, such as her great grandmother, Hellen Herron Taft. Annually, she looks forward to celebrating her great grandmother’s legacy and critical role in bringing Washington D.C.’s many Cherry Blossom Trees into fruition through the National Cherry Blossom Festival.
Patricia currently resides in Santa Monica, California with her husband, Christopher Swaine, and French Bulldog, Pascal.
