World Ngo Day
Every year on February 27, millions of quiet heroes finally get the thank-you they deserve. World NGO Day honors the non-governmental and nonprofit organizations that feed the hungry, shelter the displaced, defend human rights, and protect the planet, often with little fanfare and even less funding. In 2027, the 14th annual celebration falls on Saturday, February 27, and it belongs to every volunteer, donor, and field worker who shows up for the public good.

3 ways to celebrate
Thank a local hero
Write a note, send an email, or post a public thank-you to a nonprofit or volunteer you admire, naming the specific project or person that moved you.
Volunteer an hour together
Gather friends for a one-hour volunteer shift at a food bank, park cleanup, or animal shelter, the perfect low-pressure first step into volunteering.
Give where it counts
Donate to a local NGO or attend a fundraiser, and ask the charity what it actually needs before you give, because skills and time count too.
