International Romani Day
Every year on April 8, the world honors the culture, history, and resilience of the Romani people. International Romani Day, observed every April 8, celebrates Romani identity and heritage while raising awareness of the discrimination Romani communities still face. It traces its roots to a landmark gathering in 1971, when Romani delegates from across Europe met near London and chose a flag, an anthem, and a name for a united movement. This is a day for music, memory, and respect.
