The story
Good financial planning is not about being rich. It is about being ready. World Financial Planning Day was created in 2017 by the Financial Planning Standards Board to raise the world's financial literacy, one conversation at a time. From the very first observance, held on October 4, 2017, it has taken place during IOSCO's World Investor Week, pairing investor protection with practical money wisdom.

Each year, planners around the world host pro bono clinics, seminars, workshops, and webinars covering debt management, emergency preparation, home ownership, building savings, investment planning, and retirement. Their message is the same everywhere: financial planning is the process of building strategies to manage your affairs and meet your life goals, and it belongs to everyone.
Whether you are starting your first budget, buying a home, or planning for retirement, the day is your invitation to act. Talk to a competent, ethical planner, read one good article on saving, or simply open your accounts and take stock. The future is built in small, planned steps.
