World Hijab Day
Every year on February 1, an invitation goes out to every woman, of every faith and every background. World Hijab Day asks women to wear the hijab for one day, experience it for themselves, and discover the faith, modesty, and identity it represents to millions.

3 ways to celebrate
Wear It for a Day
Accept the invitation at the heart of the day: wear a hijab for February 1 and experience it firsthand. Ask a friend who wears one to show you how, and talk together about what it means to her.
Listen and Learn
Read the stories of hijab-wearing women, watch Nazma Khan's TEDx talk about turning pain into a global movement, and learn why the hijab is worn. Understanding is the antidote to prejudice.
Bring the Conversation Along
Schools, workplaces, and community groups mark the day with try-on booths, panels, and discussions. Suggest one where you learn or work, and help make your community a place where every woman's choice of dress is respected.
Plan ahead
