INTERNATIONAL DAYGENERAL

World Trauma Day

Every year on October 17, World Trauma Day calls attention to one of the world's greatest causes of preventable death and disability: traumatic injury. Born in New Delhi in 2011 in response to India's staggering road toll, the day is a global call to prevent injuries, strengthen emergency care, and stand beside survivors and their families.

WITH FRIENDS

Make a road safety pledge with friends

Pledge to buckle up every time, put the phone down, and respect speed limits. Invite friends to join you and if eligible, consider donating blood.

AT WORK OR SCHOOL

Support a trauma survivor charity

Donate to or volunteer with an organization that helps accident victims, supports domestic violence survivors, or funds rehabilitation and counseling.
