International Day for Landmine Awareness

Every year on April 4, the world walks together toward ground that is safe for every child. The International Day for Landmine Awareness (officially the International Day for Mine Awareness and Assistance in Mine Action) is the United Nations' annual call to confront one of war's cruelest legacies: landmines and explosive remnants of war that keep killing long after the fighting stops. In 2027, the day is observed on Sunday, April 4, and it asks the world to remember the communities still living with hidden danger beneath their feet.
