Mds World Awareness Day
Every year on October 25, a simple blood test can open the door to answers for thousands of families. MDS World Awareness Day puts a spotlight on myelodysplastic syndromes, a rare group of bone marrow disorders that too often go unrecognized. On this day, patient groups around the world speak up, walk together, and urge anyone with troubling symptoms to ask their doctor about a full blood count.

3 ways to celebrate
Learn the Four Key Symptoms
Sit down with your family and learn the four symptoms the MDS Alliance highlights: bruising, fatigue, breathlessness, and weakness. Talk together about when a full blood count test is worth asking a doctor about, so everyone knows what to watch for.
Walk for Awareness
Join or organize an MDS awareness walk in your town, following the example of the annual 5K walks held on this day. Walks raise money for research and show patients and caregivers they are not facing this alone.
Donate and Spread the Word
Make a gift to the MDS Foundation or another group that funds MDS research, and share facts on social media with #MDSWorldAwarenessDay. Even a short post can reach someone who has never heard of MDS.
