National Equal Pay Day
Every spring, a date lands on the calendar that should not have to exist. National Equal Pay Day marks how far into the new year women must work to earn what men earned the year before. The National Committee on Pay Equity sets the date each year from the latest Census data. Most recently it fell on March 26, 2026, one day later than the year before, because the gap widened instead of closing.
