Throughout September, libraries across the United States host events and activities aimed at promoting literacy and encouraging sign-ups. Many libraries offer special incentives such as waived fees or exclusive programs for those who sign up during this month. This initiative underscores the vital role libraries play in fostering a love of reading and lifelong learning.

One of the most compelling aspects of library membership is the access to diverse resources, books, audiobooks, e-books, and databases are just the beginning. With a library card, patrons can also borrow items from neighboring libraries through interlibrary loans. This expands the range of materials available to the community.
