The story

World Kiwanis Week is observed each year beginning January 21, the anniversary of the first official Kiwanis meeting, a time dedicated to recognizing the efforts of Kiwanis International in making a positive impact across communities. Founded in 1915, Kiwanis has grown from a small club in Detroit to an international organization with over 555,000 members. Each year, this week serves as a reminder of the collective power of service and leadership, inspiring people to take action within their communities.

During this week, Kiwanis clubs around the world engage in various service projects aimed at improving the lives of children and families. Whether through fundraising, volunteering, or community outreach, these initiatives reflect the organization's commitment to serving the children of the world. Clubs often organize events that tap into local needs, ranging from food drives to health fairs, creating tangible change in their neighborhoods.

In addition to local projects, World Kiwanis Week also emphasizes the global reach of the organization. Kiwanis clubs collaborate internationally, sharing resources and best practices to tackle common challenges. This spirit of cooperation enhances the impact of their projects, fostering a sense of global citizenship among members and encouraging them to think beyond borders in their service endeavors.

As we celebrate World Kiwanis Week, we invite individuals and families to get involved.
