3 ways to celebrate
Declare a Buy-Nothing Zone at Home
Put the wallet in a drawer, delete the shopping apps for the day, and make a game of using only what you already own. Cook from the pantry, play a board game, take a walk, or finally fix that wobbly chair.
Give Instead of Buy
Spend the day giving things away instead of acquiring them. Box up clothes, books, or tools you no longer need and offer them to neighbors through a local buy-nothing group. Volunteer for an afternoon, or invite friends over for a leftover feast that costs no one a dime.
Start a Swap at Work or School
Organize a swap table where everyone brings something they no longer need and takes something they do. Post a 24-hour buy-nothing pledge on the break room board and see who lasts.
