National Day of Giving
Every year on the Tuesday after Thanksgiving, we set down the shopping bags and pick up generosity instead. In 2026, that day is December 1, known around the world as #GivingTuesday. After a weekend of hunting deals, this is the day we give back to the causes and neighbors who need us most.

3 ways to celebrate
Start a Food Drive
Set up a collection for non-perishable food at your office or school, then deliver it to a local food pantry. A box by the break room and a few reminder emails are all it takes.
Give Your Time
Volunteer for a few hours, make blankets for people receiving cancer treatment, or collect new toys for children spending the holidays in the hospital.
Make Every Dollar Count
Donate what you can, even a single dollar, to a cause you love. Give locally so shelters, youth programs, and health programs in your town feel it first.
Plan ahead
National Day of Giving is observed on Tuesday after Thanksgiving. Here is where it lands for the next ten years, handy for planners, marketers and party people.
