National No One Eats Alone Day
Every year on February 12, every student deserves a seat at the table and a friend beside it. Launched in 2012 by the nonprofit Beyond Differences, National No One Eats Alone Day asks students to look past the usual lunch-table borders and share a meal with someone new. Observed each year on the second Friday of February, it turns an ordinary school lunch into a quiet, powerful act of belonging.

3 ways to celebrate
Make Room at Your Table
On the day itself, scan the cafeteria for someone sitting alone or with a brand-new face, and invite them to join you, no big speech required. Try one of the day's conversation starters and listen as much as you talk.
Lunch With Someone New
Team up with friends to each invite one person outside your usual circle to share lunch, then compare notes afterward on what surprised you. Turn it into a monthly 'new friends lunch' so the spirit of the day lasts all year.
Bring the Day to Your School
Ask a teacher, counselor, or principal to sign your school up for the program's free Belonging Box so next year's day comes with lesson plans and activities ready to go. Keep an eye out all year for the classmate who could use an invitation.
Plan ahead
National No One Eats Alone Day moves each year (Changes Annually in February). This year it is Friday, February 12, 2027. Check back for future years.
